The snow didn’t stop our little readers from coming out to celebrate their reading efforts for the Scottie Reads Reading Challenge Saturday, Feb. 10th!  This is the 9th year for the Scottie Reads program, challenging all of the North Scott first graders to read 10 books in one month.

This year, 193 North Scott first graders completed the challenge and were invited along with their family to a pizza party at the Ed White Elementary School. In recognition for their reading achievement, each student was rewarded with a special certificate and stuffed animal scottie dog, and even got their picture taken with Ascentra’s very own Jumpin’ George!

Thank you to our partners at the Scott County System Library, the North Scott Community School District, and the Ascentra staff who helped make it a special day for our little readers.
