This year marks 100 years of Junior Achievement, an international non-profit organization that inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy. Many at Ascentra have taken part in Junior Achievement volunteer opportunities including a group who celebrated Junior Achievement Day this past April 11 in area classrooms as part of the classroom volunteer program.
Alvaro Macias has been volunteering for four years for Moline’s Lincoln-Irving Elementary fifth grade classes.
For the past four years, Kathy O’Haver has been volunteering at Wilson Elementary School in Davenport in the first grade class her daughter teaches.
Heather Sersig presented her Butterworth Elementary School first grade class in Moline with their certificates of completion; this is her second year volunteering.
